A man in Tromsö in northern Norway has ended up with the police after being seen carrying a live seagull on the city's streets in the middle of the night.
When the police contacted him, the seagull had flown away and the man could not provide his name, but the police found an ID card.
People who had seen him carrying the bird had contacted the police, and someone had also filmed him with the bird in his arms.
It may be a criminal offense to carry a seagull, as seagulls are protected in Norway, all year round. The man has been reported for refusing to provide his identity, but the police say it is unclear whether carrying the seagull can also lead to a court case.
