Queen Margrethe, who abdicated in January and handed over the throne to her son Frederik, has been discharged from the hospital after a fall accident on Wednesday, announces the Danish royal house.
The Queen, who formally has the role of regent, will need to wear a neck brace for the coming months. Moreover, her left hand is in a cast.
The royal house emphasizes that the Queen, considering the circumstances, is doing well, but will be on sick leave for a longer period and her participation in several events will be cancelled.
