Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Al-Thani received a delegation from the terrorist-listed Hamas on Saturday for continued discussions on a possible ceasefire in Gaza. The Hamas delegation was led by Khalil al-Hayya, according to Qatar's Foreign Ministry.
The goal is to reach a "clear and comprehensive" agreement on a ceasefire in Gaza, according to a statement.
It is relatively rare for the Prime Minister, who is also Qatar's Foreign Minister, to participate in the direct talks. Earlier in December, he expressed some hopes for a solution to the conflict, which has not yet been fulfilled, just like so many times before.
