Hundreds of Palestinians have protested on Tuesday in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip and demanded an end to the war. Some of the demonstrators, mostly men, chanted Hamas-critical slogans such as "Hamas out" and "Hamas terrorists", according to witnesses for AFP.
People are tired. If the solution is for Hamas to relinquish power in Gaza, why doesn't Hamas then give up power to protect the people? says a demonstrant to the news agency.
It is unclear who has arranged the demonstration. But on the messaging service Telegram, calls are being spread for new protests on Wednesday.
The gathering takes place a week after Israel resumed bombing Gaza after nearly two months of ceasefire.
