A 65-year-old man is being prosecuted on suspicion of having placed a smoke grenade at the town hall in Hjo, reports P4 Skaraborg.

It was in June that the object was found in the building's entrance. The police and national bomb squad were alerted and it was determined that it was a live smoke grenade.

A politician also received trash and a threatening message in their mailbox.

The man is being prosecuted for gross unlawful threats, obstruction of justice, violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods, and harassment.
