In the beginning of the year, the police put a stop to a long burglary tour in villa areas in Skåne and southern Halland. During a raid in Ängelholm, jewelry and cash from up to 140 burglaries were found. In total, it's about 350 to 370 pieces of jewelry.
It may be one of the absolutely largest burglary series we've had in Sweden, says investigation leader Rickard Pedersen.
Now the police are urging everyone in Skåne and southern Halland who has had a burglary at home during the period October 2024 to January 2025 to get in touch, so that the jewelry can be returned to the rightful owners.
Much of the loot may not have such great economic value, but we can see from the type of jewelry that they have a higher sentimental value – christening gifts and grandparents' wedding rings, says Rickard Pedersen.
In order for the jewelry to be handed out, the owners need to complement their previous police report with as detailed a description of the jewelry as possible and preferably also attach pictures.
The two foreign nationals who were arrested are detained for burglary. After the arrest, the number of reported burglaries in the area decreased drastically.
