The signatories of the appeal believe that Linde and Farrokhzad have made the Cultural Centre Stadsteatern into an important literary scene.
"Therefore, we are shocked that our colleagues are forced to leave their assignments", write 30 authors and other cultural personalities, including Ulf Karl Olov Nilsson, Judith Kiros and Torbjörn Flygt.
Linde and Farrokhzad claim that their commitment to the Palestinians in Gaza is behind the decision to leave their assignments.
"Instead of defending democratic values, the Cultural Centre conveys that one's opinions can be grounds for censorship and, in the worst case, terminated assignments. We hope that the management reconsiders its decision", write the cultural personalities, among other things.
The Cultural Centre's cultural director Linda Beijer rejects the claims that the political commitment would be behind it.
"We have time-limited appointments for all our artistic responsible", she recently said to Dagens Nyheter.
