A dead woman has been found in a wooded area in Gothenburg. According to the police, it cannot be ruled out that she was subjected to a crime and the case is therefore being handled as a suspected murder.
We received alerts from several private individuals about a deceased person in a wooded area, says August Brandt, press spokesperson for the police.
We do not know what happened, but circumstances at the scene make it impossible to rule out a crime.
A larger area around the discovery site was cordoned off for a technical investigation.
The body was found on Thursday afternoon. In the evening, the police announced that the dead woman was of younger middle age and that relatives had not yet been informed.
A forensic medical examination will be performed on the body.
