Karin Filipsson, second vice chairman of the Hospital Doctors, believes that the costs are extra provocative considering the shortage of hospital beds and staff in the region.
The hospital doctor has calculated how many hospital beds the region could have kept open for the amount that has so far been spent on the criticized journal system. According to the calculation, the amount corresponds to approximately three entire hospital wards with 24 beds for over six years.
It is undoubtedly the case that we could have gotten a lot of healthcare for this money, says Filipsson, who is also one of the Swedish Medical Association's representatives in the trade union reference group for Skåne's Digital Healthcare System (SDV), to the newspaper.
The calculation is based on a standard cost from the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions' (SKR) KPP database of 17,525 kronor per hospital day.
