Medo Halimy, who built up a large following on Tiktok with posts from the war in Gaza, was killed last week in an Israeli attack.
According to several media outlets, he was injured when a car in front of the internet café – in practice a tent with access to wifi – where he was sitting was hit in an Israeli air raid. Halimy died at the hospital a few hours later.
His family is in shock, says sister Rahaf Halimy to NBC News, who was on site when the 19-year-old was taken to the hospital in Khan Yunis.
"Everyone who knew Medo loved him", the sister writes on Instagram.
