A police officer has been shot dead in what the police call a terrorist attack in southern Israel.
Several other people have been injured.
According to Israeli media, the shooter "indiscriminately" opened fire at two separate locations along the highway between the cities of Ashdod and Yavne.
The perpetrator is said to have been shot to death by a passing paramedic.
