Öberg ready for the relay – the surprise gets to sit out

Hanna Öberg is clear for the women's relay at the biathlon World Championship premiere. On the other hand, successful skier Ella Halvarsson will have to sit out. It's very smart, because she will have a hard time sleeping, says national team coach Johannes Lukas.

It was decided already before Ella Halvarsson and Sebastian Samuelsson won the single mixed relay that Halvarsson would skip Sunday's women's relay.

We want to test a few different variants. And after today, it was very smart that Ella skips tomorrow, she will have a hard time sleeping and needs a recovery day tomorrow, says Johannes Lukas.

Instead, 21-year-old Sara Andersson will get the chance.

She looks very fresh and was very good last week. Getting the chance in an early relay suits her well, says Lukas.

The others are Anna Magnusson, Hanna Öberg, and Elvira Öberg. Hanna Öberg skipped Saturday's competitions after being ill.

On the men's side, it will be the World Championship gold team that competes with Viktor Brandt, Jesper Nelin, Martin Ponsiluoma, and Sebastian Samuelsson.

Viktor has looked good the last few days and he is ready for another relay, says Lukas.
