In the first hockey period, both Nylander and defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson got assists on Fraser Minten's opening goal.
"It was fun, it felt good. I know that 'Willy' sees everything, so I just waited for something and he made a fantastic pass," says the goal scorer to NHL's website.
Nylander followed up the pass by scoring 2–0 himself at the beginning of the third period.
"We killed their power play very well. Some of the guys blocked many shots tonight, like Steven Lorentz (four blocked shots) and (Joseph) Woll did an incredible job in goal. In the third period, we took back the game and were the better team out there," says the Swede.
Pontus Holmberg sealed the result to 3–0 with an empty net with just over three minutes left of the third period. It was his first goal of the season.
