The New York Stock Exchange begins the last trading week of June with small price movements. The semiconductor giant Nvidia falls 2 per cent following last week's decline, and the Nasdaq composite index drops 0.3 per cent.
This is happening simultaneously with the S&P 500 being slightly down, 0.1 per cent, while the Dow Jones industrial index loses 0.3 per cent.
The cautious trading is taking place ahead of Friday's inflation report, which is seen as an important signal regarding whether there will be any further interest rate cuts this year for the American part. Later in the week, a number of interim reports will also be released, including from the sports brand Nike and the pharmacy chain Walgreens, which are expected to provide clues about household consumption.
