The film, starring Alexander Karim and Alma Pöysti in two of the roles, takes place in the Central African Republic during the civil war and is about the Norwegian aid worker Linn (Kristine Kujath Thorp).
A Muslim man seeks refuge at the field hospital where she works. The Christian militia outside demands his life, forcing Linn to make a series of difficult decisions to protect the man as well as her colleagues.
"A real nail-biter that touches deeply," says Pia Lundberg, artistic director of the Gothenburg Film Festival, in a press release.
The film is based on the autobiography "There is no one else – it's just us" by Lindis Hurum, general secretary of the Norwegian Doctors Without Borders.
The opening takes place in Gothenburg, but also at cinemas in other parts of the country participating in the festival digitally.
