The Danish-Swedish mail and parcel supplier Postnord reports an operating loss of 463 million kronor for the second quarter of the year. This can be compared to the loss of 725 million kronor during the corresponding quarter last year.
Net sales fell to 9.7 billion, down from 9.8 billion kronor.
Parcel volumes decreased by 1 percent, while mail volumes fell by 11 percent during the quarter.
"As a consequence of the new Danish postal law with significantly decreasing mail volumes and uncertainty about future mail revenues in Denmark, a write-down of a total of 598 million kronor has affected the operating result", writes CEO Annemarie Gardshol in a comment in the report.
