Several apartments on Kungsholmen in central Stockholm have been subjected to break-ins with some form of acid.
We suspect that they are connected and will investigate it, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
On Saturday, the police were alerted to several addresses on Kungsholmen that had been subjected to break-ins or attempted break-ins with acid. Another attempted break-in was reported later on Saturday evening.
It's residents in apartment buildings who discover that someone has tried to break into a neighbor's apartment but failed, says Daniel Wikdahl, police spokesperson.
The rescue service was called to sanitize the stairwell since chemicals were left at the scene.
No one has been arrested, but the police will investigate whether there is a connection between the incidents.
On Friday, the police posted on their Facebook page seeking tips – after several break-ins occurred in Solna, which Aftonbladet was the first to report.
"The modus operandi is that acid has been poured into the lock cylinder and then the perpetrator has entered the apartment and stolen goods," the police write on their Facebook page.
