Netflix has got the green light for a new filming of Stephen King's horror novel "Cujo", writes Deadline.

King's novel from 1981 about the big and gentle St. Bernard dog that develops rabies after being bitten on the nose by a bat was made into a feature film as early as 1983.

Then directed by Lewis Teague and starring Dee Wallace in the lead role as a mother trapped in an overheated car desperately trying to protect her son from the drooling beast.

Stephen King, 77 years old, continues to be a productive author. In May, his new crime novel "Never flinch" will be released, and he is also working on a third part of "The Talisman".

His novels and short stories also give rise to a steady stream of films and series, such as the recently released "The Monkey" and the upcoming "The Long Walk" and "The Running Man".
