Last summer, Ulf Dageby passed away at the age of 80. But Nationalteatern's rock orchestra will continue to play – without its leading figure. In May, the group is going on a new tour.

Ulf Dageby was Nationalteatern's co-founder, main singer and songwriter. Several of the Swedish prog's classics came from his pen and when he suddenly passed away last year, many believed that the legendary group would stop playing.

But now there will be three performances in May. The premiere will take place at Nalen in Stockholm on May 8. Then, concerts in Gothenburg on May 10 and in Lund six days later are waiting.

Ulf Dageby wanted the orchestra to live on even after him, according to singer Matilda Sjöström.

"'Whatever happens, keep playing', he said", she says in a press release.

But still, it was not entirely given that there would be a continuation.

"Ulf was both our best friend and a colleague, so it was not entirely obvious that we would continue. But after the funeral, we realized that he had both his ordinary family and our music family – and families stick together", says Matilda Sjöström.
