The Fireaid Gala, described as an evening of "music and solidarity", will be broadcast live on several streaming services. The collected funds will, according to the organizers, contribute to the reconstruction of infrastructure, supporting homeless families, and developing preventive strategies to ensure that LA is better prepared for emergency situations.

The fires have left thousands of people homeless – many of them with connections to the entertainment industry. Several of the gala's artists have also grown up in California. Billie Eilish was born and raised in Los Angeles and Gwen Stefani was born in Fullerton and grew up in Anaheim.

The legendary rock band Eagles, formed in California in the early 1970s, has already donated 2.5 million dollars to the charity concert.
