The shooting occurred near a highway north of London, a small town with around 8,000 inhabitants.

The Mayor Randall Weddle states that a total of seven people are injured, but some of them were injured in a traffic accident. Several people are said to have serious injuries.

No one was killed in connection with this, thank goodness, but we ask for your prayers, says Randall Weddle in a statement in a video.

According to local media, the shooting does not appear to be random, but is said to have occurred after a conflict broke out between two motorists. The perpetrator is said to have shot at the highway from a wooded area adjacent to the road.

The highway in question was closed for a couple of hours but is now open again. The suspected shooter has not been apprehended yet, and people in the area are advised to stay indoors.

According to the sheriff's office in Laurel County, the police are searching for a 32-year-old man.
