He believes that the Swedish Central Bank will lower the interest rate once more, probably in August. This would cause the floating mortgage rates to fall further after the summer.
In parallel, the fixed rates have increased in pace with the growing uncertainty surrounding the global economy.
"Given our forecast for mortgage rates with different binding periods, it will be cheapest in kronor and ören to choose a floating rate in early June compared to binding the rate for 1-5 years", he says in a written comment.
But on the other hand, the premium for binding, and thus knowing what the cost will be for a longer period, is relatively low, he continues.
The major bank Nordea makes a different assessment in a new mortgage rate forecast. Chief economist Annika Winsth does not believe the Swedish Central Bank will move the interest rate anymore this year. This would mean the floating rates would remain still. At the same time, she also notes that the fixed rates have risen and may do so even more.
"If you intend to bind your mortgage, it is likely wise to do so in the near future", Winsth writes.
