The coming week, many will celebrate autumn break and considering the weather that awaits, it may be a good idea to prepare with indoor activities.
The week starts with a yellow warning for icy roads on Sunday night and Monday morning in parts of western Norrland. But the rest of the week will be less dramatic on the weather front.
It's generally varying weather with a slightly milder trend in the south and a colder period in the north, says Sofia Söderberg, meteorologist at SMHI, and adds that there will also be some sunshine.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, a low-pressure system moves east over the Norwegian Sea, northern Scandinavia, and northern Finland. It will get slightly milder in southern Sweden but colder with passing snow and wind in the north.
The prognosis for Thursday and Friday is still more uncertain.
It's still a low-pressure dominated situation, especially in the northern parts of the country. The question is whether even colder air will move south during Thursday and Friday, says Sofia Söderberg.
SMHI's prognosis for the weekend suggests that the low-pressure traffic will take a break and that cold northwestern winds will blow over the entire country and lower the temperature.
