Remains of a woman have been found in a forest area, writes Katrineholms-Kuriren. She was found by forest walkers and has now been identified as a woman who disappeared in 2012.
Over the years, the search for the woman has been extensive, involving both the police, volunteers, and volunteer organizations.
In early May this year, private individuals discovered remains in the forest, and after an analysis from the National Board of Forensic Medicine, her identity has now been confirmed.
It doesn't feel good that we haven't found her for so many years. It's hard to say why we didn't find her, but it was very difficult terrain where she was found. It was some members of the public who found her, who were out in the forest. But it still feels good now that the family can get closure, says Emmy Truedsson, police inspector at the police in Katrineholm, to the newspaper.
The woman was 65 years old when she disappeared from her home in December 2012.
