"Milk has increased a lot in price lately, the milk price has risen by over ten percent in the last year", says Carl Mårtensson, price statistician at SCB, in a press release.

The commodity group that increased the most in price in October was oils and fats, up by 4.1 percent from September. The price of butter, for example, has risen by over 8 percent.

Lower prices can be seen in, among other things, fruit and vegetables, although it varies a lot between different products, writes SCB.

"Most things within food and non-alcoholic beverages have risen in price over the last year. On the other hand, fruit and vegetables have decreased in price overall", says Caroline Neander, price statistician at SCB.

According to SCB, the average prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 0.01 percent in October compared to September. Seen over a year, prices increased by 1.7 percent compared to October last year.
