Miley Cyrus is being sued for copyright infringement. Her song "Flowers" is claimed to have too many musical similarities with Bruno Mars' ballad "When I was your man" from 2012.
According to documents that the entertainment site TMZ has gained access to, Tempo Music Investments, which owns parts of the copyright to Mars' song, claims that the refrain, harmony, melody, chord progression, and lyrics have been intentionally copied.
However, Bruno Mars is not mentioned as a plaintiff in the application.
Earlier this year, Miley Cyrus won her first Grammys for best pop performance, solo, and for album of the year.
The song "Flowers" is said to be about her ex-husband, actor Liam Hemsworth, whom she was married to from 2018 to 2020.
