Meira Omar's stage drama: "Should I stop?"

Meira Omar secured a spot in the Melodifestivalen final qualifying round. But not without drama – a cameraman fell during the introduction of "Hush hush". For a second there, I thought: "Should I interrupt?", says Meira Omar to TT.

Everything went smoothly in the first round of Melodifestivalen in Luleå.

Except for one occasion.

The introduction of Meira Omar's number "Hush hush" became a bit more dramatic when a cameraman suddenly fell, Meira Omar disappeared from the picture, and a hand appeared. According to Aftonbladet, the cameraman injured himself and bled, but was able to continue working.

Meira Omar witnessed the incident from the stage.

Yes, I saw it. I was a bit unsure of what exactly I saw, but I saw him fall, and then I didn't know how bad it was, says Meira Omar to TT.

"Come to me"

For a second there, I thought: "Should I stop?" But I really had to trust the incredible staff here and everyone working around the stage, that he got help. That was the most important thing for me, that he wasn't hurt or injured.

And everything seems to have gone well, considering the circumstances.

He came up to me in the greenroom after the performance and he's doing fine, and that's the most important thing for me.

Even more important for Meira Omar – previously known as one of the participants in "Love is blind" – was that she secured a spot in the final qualifying round.

I didn't dare believe or hope for anything, really, but it's clear that I really wanted to reach as many people as possible.

"He's disappointed"

Melodifestivalen's project manager Anders Wistbacka doesn't know exactly what happened when the cameraman fell.

He's most disappointed about what happened, that he couldn't deliver the image he had planned. My focus was on whether he was injured or not. But he's not, he's doing fine, says Wistbacka to TT.
