Ian McKellen will not participate in any of the remaining theater performances of "Player Kings" after his fall from the stage earlier this summer, reports NME.
"Two weeks after my accident on stage, I'm getting better and better every day", he writes in an Instagram post and continues:
"It is with the greatest reluctance that I have accepted the medical advice to make sure I'm fully recovered by not working during this time".
It was on June 17 that McKellen, who is best known for his role as Gandalf in "The Lord of the Rings" films, fell from the stage and injured himself during a performance in London. He was hospitalized and missed three performances, with the hope that he would be able to return to the stage again on July 3, when the performances resume in Brighton.
