The musical "& Juliet", with music by Swedish star producer Max Martin, is coming to Sweden. In the spring of 2026, it will have its premiere at Cirkus in Stockholm, the arena announces in a press release.
"& Juliet" had its world premiere in London in 2021 and has since been performed on Broadway in New York, among other places. The musical is written by David West Read and is about what would have happened if Julia hadn't died in Shakespeare's classic play "Romeo and Juliet".
The story is accompanied by several popular songs by Max Martin, including "Baby one more time" with Britney Spears, "Larger than life" with Backstreet Boys, and "Can't stop the feeling" with Justin Timberlake. Max Martin is also producing the production.
Calle Norlén has translated the musical into Swedish, and Edward af Sillén is directing.
