An elderly couple's daily life meets the tension between young women and young men in Mats Ek's new choreography "A Cup of Coffee". The new dance work deals with the tension in pair relationships at different ages and stages of life, according to a press release from the Royal Opera. Mats Ek is once again collaborating with the artist Marie-Louise Ekman, who is responsible for costumes and set design.

The music is written by Anders Hillborg.

"A Cup of Coffee" will have its premiere on February 7 next year and will be performed as a full-length evening that also includes the British choreographer Wayne McGregor's "Infra".
