According to an email from the Chinese police to the woman's relatives, the man has been arrested in China suspected of murder, reports SVT News. It is unclear which murder it concerns, whether it is another crime he is suspected of in China.
In 2016, the man was convicted despite his denial of instigation to murder. However, due to a biased juror, the trial had to be retried, and he was then acquitted.
The verdict was appealed, but when it was time for the trial, the man did not show up. Now, new information shows that the man is being investigated for crimes in China.
We have heard it from sources we trust, says prosecutor Ulrika Egelrud Bentelius to SVT News.
The man's lawyer in Sweden has not received any information about the arrest.
This is completely new information to me, he says to the channel.
