Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) says to TV4 that "the development is both uncertain and serious" after the reports of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's death.

It's difficult to assess what this can lead to, but the risk of escalation is quite obvious, he says to TV4.

Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M), who is in the USA during the UN's high-level week, said earlier in a written comment to TT that the Foreign Ministry, together with the embassies in the region, is closely following the development and is in contact with like-minded countries, including the EU.

"I want to repeat that Swedes in Lebanon should leave the country as soon as possible, while it is still possible."
