Playland chain Leos Playland applies for reconstruction, reports Göteborgs-Posten.

"We had hoped that the situation would stabilise, but recurring economic shocks have made it impossible. Reconstruction is now our only option to save the company and approximately 1,000 jobs", says Joakim Gunler, founder and CEO of Leos Playland, in a press release according to GP.

Leos Playland has 27 facilities in Sweden. The crisis began during the pandemic, when the business was forced to close completely for a period, and was exacerbated by rent increases and rising costs.

The company hopes to be out of reconstruction in three months and, in the meantime, the business will continue to operate as usual.
