British inflation rose in July for the second month in a row, to an annual rate of 3.8 percent. In June, the price increase rate was 3.6 percent.
Inflation is thus at the highest level in 1.5 years.
The increase in consumer prices was driven mainly by rising air fares, more expensive hotels and fuel prices.
The higher inflation will likely make it more difficult for the British central bank to continue to cut the interest rate.
