Norwegian NRK is forced to make large cutbacks. Between 70 and 90 positions will disappear when the public service company must save 200 million Norwegian kronor.
We are in a difficult economic situation where costs are too high in relation to revenues. It's about, among other things, inflation that affects us and many other operations, and which NRK has not been compensated for in recent years, says NRK CEO Vibeke Fürst Haugen.
NRK is now introducing, among other things, a hiring freeze and will not replace employees who retire. Fürst Haugen does not rule out that the cutbacks will be noticeable in the program offerings.
