It was on July 22, 2024, that the man climbed up a ladder to his parents' house in Norrtälje. He entered the bedroom on the upper floor and assaulted his 85-year-old father so severely that he later died from his injuries, according to the police on their website.
The man had been rejected from the house by the police earlier in the day after behaving aggressively towards his parents. In the evening, the mother contacted the police and reported that the son had returned drunk and angry and assaulted the father with punches and kicks.
The father was questioned by the police after the assault, but lost consciousness during the ambulance ride to the hospital, where he died two days later.
The man was previously sentenced to life imprisonment in February for the murder.
