It became Kenyan dominance on both the men's and women's sides in the Stockholm Marathon.

The five best times belonged to Kenyan runners and Fredrick Kibii won with a time of 2:14:17. Marion Kibor was the fastest woman.

The men's race developed into a Kenyan duel between Fredrick Kibii and Robert Ngeno, but the last kilometers pulled Kibii and he had a 13-second winning margin over Ngeno at the finish line on Stockholm Stadium.

All five top-placed men come from Kenya. The best Swede on the men's side was Ebba Tulu Chala, who finished sixth with a time of 2:18:43.

On the women's side, Marion Kibor was a clear winner in the finish, with a time of 2:31:46. The best Swede was Carolina Wikström, who finished fourth among the women with a time of 2:37:28.

Nearly 19,000 runners have picked up their bib numbers, reports Aftonbladet.

The classic race takes place in 26-degree heat through the capital. It is carried out with major security measures, including a bag ban at the finish line on the Stadium.
