An overloaded left foot means that Karlsson cannot ski at the moment.
The 25-year-old is instead doing alternative training on Tenerife and will likely miss both the Swedish premiere in Bruksvallarna on 22-24 November and the World Cup premiere in Finnish Ruka the following weekend.
We'll have to give it time. The most important thing is that she gets to compete in something before the World Championship and gets going properly. She's usually quite easy to get back in shape, that's the consolation, says Sweden's national team manager Anders Byström.
The season's big goal, the World Championship in Trondheim, is four months away. But Byström doesn't hide his concern for Frida Karlsson's season.
It's clear that you get worried when the season is so close. And right now, she's sitting on a top in Tenerife and can't ski. There are more optimal situations. On the other hand, I know that Frida is a very positive person and she'll believe in it until it's completely impossible.
It'll take a lot for her to give up the season or give up the World Championship. She'll do everything to get back.
