The Kalmar County Theatre, Byteatern, is forced to lay off staff. As a consequence of insufficient grant development, the theatre has been forced to reorganize, and to avoid an economic deficit, it is forced to cut five positions and thereby lay off four people.
"It is with great sorrow that we have made this difficult decision. We have done everything we can to avoid layoffs, but the economic situation has forced us to take this measure", says theatre manager Jan Dzedins in a press release.
Going forward, the theatre will, among other things, coordinate its economy and salary management with the Kalmar County Museum to release funds.
