90 guitars that belonged to the legendary guitarist Jeff Beck will be sold at auction. The auction house Christie's in London is also selling an additional 40 items owned by the late musician.
The collection, estimated to be worth around 14 million kronor, includes a 1954 Gibson Les Paul that Beck purchased in 1972 and played throughout the rest of the 1970s. The guitar featured on the cover of Beck's Grammy-winning album "Blow by blow" is expected to fetch between five and seven million kronor at the auction.
Jeff Beck, who passed away in 2023, began his career as a rock musician in bands such as the Yardbirds, but during his solo career, he also played jazz, blues, and opera music. As a guitarist, he guest-starred with, among others, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, and Tina Turner.
Earlier this year, Christie's sold Dire Straits member Mark Knopfler's instruments at an auction that brought in the equivalent of 122 million kronor. The Beck auction will take place on January 22.
