On Thursday, charges will be brought against the three companies, for gross negligence leading to another's death, gross negligence leading to bodily harm, and causing danger to others after the accident at Gröna Lund in 2023.

"The request is that the companies be ordered to pay among the highest corporate fines ever imposed in Sweden", writes the Prosecution Authority in a press release.

The accident occurred in June last year, when the roller coaster Jetline partially derailed when an arm on the underside of the front car broke. Three passengers fell out of the cars during the accident. A woman in her 30s was so severely injured that she died. Nine other people were injured.

The two companies, in addition to Gröna Lund, which were involved in the manufacture of the arm, have been suspected.

All three companies have denied any wrongdoing.

"We do not believe that any crime has been committed within the framework of Gröna Lund's operations and therefore deny the allegations", said the amusement park's lawyer Jonas Tamm in a comment in September.
