Registrations of new motorhomes increased by 3 percent to 352 motorhomes in June, according to the industry association HRF.
In June last year, the number of new motorhomes registered was 342.
However, during the first half of the year, a total of 1,389 new motorhomes were registered, compared to 1,533 during the same period last year. This is a decrease of 9.4 percent.
"It is positive that the number of newly registered motorhomes for the first time since 2022 shows more new registrations in a single month than the same month a year ago. The government's announced removal of the unfair malus tax has had a positive impact, making customers dare to invest in a new motorhome," says association chairman Per Nilsson according to a press release.
For caravans, the trend is darker, with a drop to 169 caravans newly registered in June. This can be compared to 231 new caravans during the same month last year.
Since the turn of the year, the number of newly registered caravans is down by 22.6 percent to 935 units.
