Total sales of shoes increased by 12.1 percent – and clothing by 4.4 percent – compared to last year's July sales.
Above all, the progress is visible in low-price retail with an increase of 9 percent. This while premium retail declined by 4.1 percent.
"Consumers' purchasing power is still at a low level, which means that companies with a low-price focus see an increased influx of customers", says Sofia Larsen, CEO of Svensk Handel in a press release.
Women's clothing and women's shoes had a strong development with increases of 7.0 and 15.9 percent, respectively.
The children's range, on the other hand, went much more slowly and only increased by 0.9 percent.
July is the second month in a row with clear growth, according to Svensk Handel.
