Ikea is going to invest in a more comprehensive resale of the company's furniture. On two locations in Europe, Madrid and Oslo, the concept will be tested and evaluated until the end of the year, according to CEO Jesper Brodin in an interview with Financial Times.
The company has previously, on a small scale, repurchased furniture from customers and resold it in the company's department stores. The new business platform is, however, significantly more comprehensive, according to the company, where the buyer picks up the item and the seller in turn receives money or a gift card in connection with the sale.
