Swedish households continue to hold on to their wallets tightly. According to new statistics from the Statistics Sweden (SCB), household consumption decreased by 0.3 percent in September compared to the previous month.

Compared to September last year, consumption increased slightly, up 0.1 percent, according to the preliminary figures.

One of the industries that decreased on both a monthly and annual basis was restaurants, cafes, hotels, and other accommodation services.

"The decrease was 1.3 percent, both compared to August and compared to September last year", writes SCB.
