Lobanov was kidnapped from the music festival Nova on October 7 and was found dead in southern Gaza on August 31, along with five other Israeli hostages. The heavily edited video provides a small glimpse into the captivity that the 32-year-old lived through for nearly eleven months, reports The Times of Israel.
We are being held under extremely harsh conditions. We have no basic necessities, no water, food, electricity, and hygiene products, he says in the recording and adds that he has been moved around ten times.
Probably under pressure from his kidnappers, Lobanov then turns to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government.
You betrayed us on October 7 and you continue to betray us, he says.
I left behind a pregnant wife, a two-year-old son, and sick parents. Help them raise my voice. Take to the streets. Protest. Do everything you can to get us out alive, he urges the Israeli people.
Similar clips with multiple dead hostages have been released earlier, films that can be assumed to have been recorded under duress and at gunpoint. Israeli authorities, as well as human rights groups and several previously released hostages, have stated that hostages are subjected to harsh pressure during the recording of Hamas propaganda films.
