On the occasion of the increased threat picture, a completely new situation center has been built at the government offices since last year. The inspiration comes from the White House's "Situation Room", reports SvD.

The Situation Centre will be located in the national security adviser Henrik Landerholm's organisation and the goal is to be able to identify threats at an early stage and provide the government with assistance to make quick decisions.

Last autumn, a new tool for monitoring the surroundings was acquired, a deal that due to its sensitive nature was exempt from the procurement laws LOU and LUFS, which are intended to promote fair competition and ensure that taxpayers' money is used correctly.

The tool being purchased, according to SvD, comes from the American company Dataminr, which specialises in collecting and analysing information from, among other things, social media using AI. For example, Dataminr warned the day before the storming of the Capitol in 2021 that something was underway after identifying it in social media posts.
