A commander from Iran-backed Hezbollah was killed in an Israeli attack in eastern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to the Israeli military and a source close to the group.
Hezbollah had previously announced that the man, who was also named by the military and the source, was killed by Israel, but had not referred to him as a commander.
Both Israel's military and the source report that the incident took place in the Bekaa Valley.
Israel and Hezbollah have been shelling each other almost daily since the war in Gaza broke out last year.
