A delegation from Hamas is on its way to Egypt's capital Cairo, according to a high-ranking source within the terrorist-labelled movement for the news agency AFP.
Egypt, Qatar, and the USA have been trying for several months to reach an agreement to put an end to the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
The delegation will not participate in talks about a ceasefire, but is in Cairo to receive information from Egypt's intelligence service about the progress of the talks, according to the source.
Hamas has said from the start that it will not participate in this round of negotiations, which began last week in Doha.
