It's always nice to start at the top, it's just trying to continue like this. It was a good day and it felt like the skis were working really well and the body was working too, says Anger in SVT.
He won the final ahead of Marcus Grate and Emil Danielsson.
For Calle Halfvarsson, the day ended earlier than that. He was qualified for the semi-final in the sprint, but when it was time for the start, the 35-year-old was missing.
Back problems stopped him
The reason was back problems that stopped Halfvarsson. Already after the sprint qualification earlier on Friday, he indicated that not everything was right, but he still had hopes of being able to complete the entire competition.
The best feeling during the whole week was this morning, so I had a hope that it would feel good. But then I felt in the quarter-finals that it didn't quite respond when I pushed, it pinched a bit in the back, so then I couldn't go all out. I want to be able to go tomorrow, says Halfvarsson in SVT after the competition.
"I'm just stiff"
It's not the first time he's had problems with his back.
It's been a small recurring problem. It hasn't been the worst problem this week, but still so disturbing that you walk a bit like an old man, bent forward, so it's still been a disturbing factor, he says.
However, it's not about any serious injury to his back.
I've had treatments and they say it's not dangerous. I'm just stiff. But it's disturbing, I haven't trained anything in the last week, I've just stretched my back, says Halfvarsson.
